tortilla warmers at Made in Colorado Shoppe
Tortilla Warmer by Monte Vista seamstress Ann Burkhart.
Any way you measure it, the Meet the Artist program at the Made In Colorado Shoppe has been a huge success.  This past Thursday Marcia Kmack demonstrated the art of making glass beads to a most enthusiastic audience, an audience that grows in numbers every week.

If you missed Marcia, she wants to come back again this fall so you may have a second chance.

This coming Thursday, July 29, we are excited to have Ann Burkhart from Monte Vista as our guest artist.  Ann is a professional seamstress who has been making tortilla warmers and potato pockets for the store for years.  Ann walked into the Made In Colorado Shoppe many, many years ago and told us that she loved to sew, and asked if there was anything we needed for the store.  Another craft person had been making the tortilla warmers for us and was moving out of state, which left a big gap for a great selling product.  Ann jumped right in and started making them, and along the way added potato pockets, full body bibs and animal bath towels for children, as well as adult bibs for the elderly — all have which have become some of the best selling items in the store.

Chances are if you have been in the Made In Colorado Shoppe, you probably own a tortilla warmer or potato pocket, or both.

Stop by the Made In Colorado Shoppe this Thursday, between 10:00am. and 7:00pm and watch Ann create her wonderful crafts.  She is looking forward to meeting all the wonderful folks here in Pagosa Springs.
