Kamp Pa-goh-sah
Kamp Pa-goh-sah Kids is accepting registrations for children ages 5-12 for the summer session, which will run through Aug. 27.

Kamp Pa-goh-sah Kids is a nonprofit organization hosted by the Pagosa Youth Center; the registration fee is $25 per child. The camp offers two time sessions and price brackets -- a base cost of $100 per week for children who wish to attend from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., and a "plus" package for $125 per week for those who wish to attend from 7:45 a.m. -- 5:30 p.m.

Registration ongoing for youth football leagues

Youngsters interested in participating in this year's youth football leagues can register by calling Lori Manzanares, league coordinator, at 749-1904. Flag football is scheduled to begin August 16; the registration fee is $25 (scholarships are available for those in need). Flag football is open to young athletes in first through third grades. Participation in flag football does not require travel and does not require a sports physical for participation.

On a related note, youths interested in tackle football can register now for by calling Manzanares at 749-1904. Tackle football will start August 2; the registration fee is $85 (scholarships are available for this league, as well).

Tackle football is open to young athletes in third through sixth grades. Participation in tackle football does require travel on Saturdays and requires a birth certificate and a sports physical prior to the first practice.

Youth soccer
Youth soccer registration for children ages 5-12 will run through Friday, Aug. 13. Registrations are available at the recreation office in Town Hall and are also available online in Adobe format through the recreation department link at the Town website.

Cost is $30 per player and $15 for each additional child in the same family who participates. This year's age divisions will be 5-6, 7-8, 9-10 and 11-12.  The season will begin after Labor Day and run through early October. Games will be played Monday-Thursday. If necessary, games which are rained out will be made up on Saturdays.

When player assessment dates have been determined, all participants who register to play in the 9-10 and 11-12 divisions will be contacted with the dates, times and location.

Coaches and team sponsors for each division are needed and appreciated. Cost for sponsorship is $150, which includes sponsor's name on team uniforms, commemorative plaque with team picture and designation in media articles.

Youth tennis
The July session of youth concludes this week at the Wyndham Resorts tennis courts; all registered participants have been notified regarding practice times. Participants must have nonmarking-soled athletic or tennis shoes. The recreation department has some racquets available, but participants are welcome to use their own equipment.

Softball
Softball schedules have been posted on the recreation department link at the Town website.. Schedules are also available from field supervisors each night games are played.

Players and spectators are reminded that all alcohol and tobacco products are prohibited on school grounds. Violators will be banned from the league and school grounds, and are also subject to prosecution by law enforcement.
